Neurology & Sleep Centre conducted a workshop on #Weight Management on 3rd June 2017 by Dr.Charu Khanna. This event was organised by #Dr.Manvir Bhatia for her patients so that they can clear their doubts about weight gain, obesity etc. This was an interactive workshop as there was one to one session in which many patients express their efforts as what all they did to lose that extra kilos, one of the patient even suggested some home remedies which she applied on herself in keeping the body fit. Dr.Charu also explained as what diet one should follow in which one can remain healthy and in shape. The idea of this workshop is to give an insight to our patient that is weight gain and obesity if not controlled on time can lead to sleep issues followed by sleep apnea. Our patients also got some useful tips as how to reduce weight naturally, because if we have that extra fat on our body, there is a constant feeling of laziness, mood swings, low energy, daytime sleepiness, feeling of overeating, depression etc. Following are some useful tips which Dr.Charu has provided to our patients so that they can also apply and help themselves in losing weight naturally:
Tip-1 Take 2 teaspoon of cumin seeds in the water and allow it to boil, then with the help of a filter pour the water in a mug then drink this water with a flavor of cumin seed after diner and before breakfast.
Tip-2 Flax seed has been known to help with digestive ailments for centuries, and this goes hand in hand with weight loss. Flax seeds are high in fiber, as well as mucilage, which helps lower cholesterol. It has also been proven to lower blood sugar levels.
Tip-3 Aloevera is useful in treating obesity because it stimulates the metabolism, increases energy consumption, and mobilizes unused fat in the body. It contains natural collagen proteins that make the body work harder in order to absorb the proteins. In addition, it helps remove toxins from the digestive system and colon.
Tip-4 Eating 10 fresh curry leaves daily in the morning works as a great Ayurvedic remedy to deal with obesity and diabetes caused by obesity.
Tip-5 Getting enough sleep is essential to good health. It’s also super important if you want to keep the extra pounds off.Lack of sleep has been shown to be a huge contributor to obesity in both adults and children, so make sure you are getting enough of it.
With this workshop our motive was just to make our patient aware that weight gain or obesity are like triggers to many health problems like Heart attacks, Insomnia, Obstructive Sleep Apnea.
